Austin Forum on Technology & Society
The Austin Forum on Technology & Society brings hundreds of people together every month to learn about different transformative technologies and to form new ideas and collaborations across technology and applications domains. The Austin Forum covers AI, health tech, tech startups, cybersecurity, misinformation/disinformation, clean energy, data & privacy, quantum computing, tech & art, and more! I am the founder and executive director, and I have a great team of staff (subcontracted through Vizias) and volunteers! See our website for more information.
Remedy
Remedy is a neighborhood bar in downtown Austin that is a a true third place, with many regulars and always welcoming to all. Some friends and I purchased Trifecta On 3rd in late 2023, upgraded the guest experience in many ways, and have now expanded and rebranded it (opening August 30, 2024) to be a place your home-away-from-home, your place for hanging out with friends and making new ones, your ‘remote office’ where work meetings become more conversational and work events build relationships. It is a place for best friends and new friends, for first dates and for 25th anniversaries, for office parties and birthday parties, for reunions and celebrations. It is a passion project and has been a longtime dream to create a great place for gathering. I hope you will join us for friendship and fun, to try new spirits and cocktails, and most of all to make new friends and stories.
Vizias
The three activities above keep me busy, but I continue to run Vizias to host any professional projects for me and my talented colleagies that do not fit in the activites above. Vizias is a technology consulting company founded by myself and Allison Warner in 2014 with a focus on HPC, technology strategy, and technology outreach, and that has expanded to include AI and quantum computing (mostly education). Clients and partners over the years have included Google Dell Technologies, AMD, Data Vortex, Tabor Communications/HPCwire, and others under NDA, as well as managing and executing the Austin Forum on Technology & Society and launching the Austin AI Alliance.
